Tips For Purchasing Rap Beats Online

Are you an upcoming rapper or singer looking for affordable high quality rap beats? Are you looking to become the next Drake, Ludacris, Jay-Z or Lil Wayne? If so, getting your hands on professionally produced rap beats is what you need to get to the next level and get noticed fast. Many record companies are moving away from spending thousands of dollars to develop and produce an artist. Most want full songs that only have to be professionally mixed. This is because recording budgets have gotten smaller and smaller.

In case you didn’t know, there are a ton of websites out there that offer affordable high-quality rap beats at a low price. Many offer rap beats as low as $5, while others charge a monthly fee of $20 to $30 dollars and allow you to download hundred of beats 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Most offer rap beats, hip hop beats, r&b beats that appeal to every style of rap.

Often I give advice to recording artists to know what type of beat you are looking for before you spend money on junk. In many cases, I advise them to be open to different types of beats to expand their album quality. Most record labels are look for versatility. A good way to do this is to sample the beats you are thinking about buying and sing or rap over them for 00:30 seconds. If it compliments you then I suggest adding them to your short list of beat purchases.

You also want to pay close attention as to how the beat is mixed. If you buy a low quality, low volume beats it will show in your final production. You also want to pay close attention to the licensing and refund policy of the site you are buying beats from. Many artists often finish a full project and find out they have to pay a high licensing fee to use the beat.

So before you jump into the world of buying beats online make sure you explore all the available websites and programs.

How To Sell Rap Beats Online

Many music producers struggle to get there beats reviewed by major record labels and recording artists, however, as the internet becomes increasingly popular many amateur music producers have turned to selling their beats online and are making thousands.

If you want to sell you rap beats online and become a success you must follow a few simple rules.

Learn How To Play An Instrument

Despite what the majority of most music producers think and have heard from their peers, many of them have no clue how to structure a rap beat, r&b beats or hip hop beat. This is because many of them do not understand basic music theory and timing.

In order to overcome this problem, music producers that specialize in rap beats, r&b beats or hip hop beats must learn to play at least one instrument. By learning how to play an instrument you will understand key and chord structure as well as timing.

Most music producers that sell their rap beats online have no clue that most of their tracks are out tune, out of key and pitched wrong. This is because they do not have the understanding of at least one live instrument. Here is good website I recommend that can help you play the piano.

Only Lease Your Hottest Beats

That’s right… if you want to create a viral buzz on the Internet, I would suggest you sell your hottest beats. Contrary to what many music producers might think, this tactic will help you be seen as one of the best beat makers online and will most likely get the attention of a major record label or artists.

Start With A Catalog Of 100-200 Rap Beats

That's right...only give them heat!

Build a website that offers 100-200 pieces of your hottest work and sell them and get paid by using PayPal.

Secure Your Downloads Or You Will Get Ripped Off

As many of you know, there are thieves lurking at every corner of the Internet looking to steal your rap beats. A good way to bypass this issue is to use a secure download site like TradeBit.com or E-Junkie.com. These companies offer cheap hosting services for your digital products and integrate well with PayPal.

Also make sure you get your beats copyrighted before you let anyone hear or download them.

Price Your Beats So That They Are Competitive

Make sure you do your research before you attempt to sell your first rap beat online. Go to every major search engine and look at the first (5) pages of sites. This can be done by using the keywords (rap beats for sale, beats for sale, rap beats, hip hop beats, and hip hop beats for sale).

Most of these sites will be your competitors. Figure out a good pricing structure for your rap beats based what your competition is selling their beats for.

Also figure out how to make your marketing plan better than theirs. A few websites that have perfected selling their beats online is Beats365.com and Beats2Rap2.com.

Develop Your Reputation As A Beat Maker

A good way to develop your reputation as beat maker is to work with as many local artists as you can. This will help you build your catalog of work to display on your website, blog and MySpace page.
