some of the best information to help you get your
career off the ground.

Action Step #1:

Locate a good music producer in your area that

thousands of dollars for rap beats.

Keep in mind you will still need cash to mix, master
and press your project.

If you can't find a good producer in your area that makes
hot rap beats, hip hop beats and r&b beats trying looking
online.

Some of the top music producers online are Beats365,

These are the only websites that offer hundreds of rap
beats for a one-time fee. Other websites sell rap beats
for $20 - $500.

The top (3) rap beat maker I mentioned are the best way to go
otherwise you could end up spending thousands on your project.

Action step #3:

Go to a good but inexpensive studio in you area and record
your vocals.

Action Step #4:

Find a good mix engineer that can mix and master your
project. Remember sometimes it's not about the beat it's
about the mix.

Action Step #5.

you music placed on iTunes, Rhapsody, Amazon and MP3.

Learn To Play The Guitar - FREE Guitar Videos

Last week I had a conversation with an independent music producer that lacked live instrument skills.

He had created several hot tracks in Pro-Tools but was missing the critical piece.
The guitar....yes.. the guitar can make or break a hot song.

He tried several times to locate a professional guitar player in his area but did not have any luck.

After getting frustrated he reached out to us for a solution.

We told him that he should consider doing the guitar tracks himself even though he was not the best guitar player.

After a few minutes went by he finally gave into the idea.

So we suggested he check out Free Guitar Video.com

They offer over 90 Free Online Video lessons and tons text only lessons. The videos are designed to help new musicians understand and play the guitar faster than most programs on the internet.

The second website we suggested was Workshoplive.com.

They have over 50 professional music teachers, 3000+students, 2,200 lessons and 16,000 interactive videos.

After giving him these suggestions he signed up with both websites and no longer has a problem with creating guitar tracks for his music.

If you are struggling to make your guitar tracks sound professional, I would suggest you check out these websites.

If you would like to get more information about how to learn to play the guitar, piano or how to produce rap beats check out Mix Me Entertainment.

A&R HookUp.com

The first website is A&R HookUp.com and they guarantee that your music will be heard by A&R's from major record label like Def Jam, Koch, Shady, Atlantic, Jive and more.

During A&R Live Hookup demo review session A&R HookUp's industry guest will listen to your music through their website playlist and give you live feedback on the spot by phone.

If the industry guest likes your music they will request it from you personally and instruct A&R HookUp to provide you with their direct contact info to work your situation to the next level.

OurStage.com

The next website is OurStage.com and they have partnered with NimBit, Unsigned The Magazine, Virgin Festival, BackStage and WagTail Productions just to name a few.

How Does It Work?

OurStage was created for indie musicians so they can get exposure to a wider audience base. Artists are encouraged to rate each other which results in the best artists being placed in the "Best Of" category.

The highest rated artists usually end up winning cash, prizes and media exposure or get selected to go on tour or do major gigs.

TuneCore.com

The next website is called TuneCore.com and they specialize in getting independent music
accepted on iTunes.

The good thing about TuneCore is that they allow the artists to collect and keep every penny of their royalties.

How to make rap beats like the hottest music producers in the industry

Many independent music producers struggle to create rap beats and r&b beats that have a commercial sound. Often times this is because they do not have access to the same instruments, recording studios and professional musicians that the major music producers use.

To overcome this and achieve a quality sound, independent music producers need to study the arrangement and mixing styles of many major music producers and in order to do that you have do research.

Below are (4) helpful steps every independent music producer should take if they want their rap beats & r&b beats to stand out in the crowd.

1. Check out YouTube to see if there are any video’s posted of any major music producers creating rap beats and r&b beats. I’ve located a few videos that might help you out.

Ryan Leslie in the studio:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R608SUoYkaI
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uHodee8Kfgg

Timbaland in the studio:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5kIJAVF0Jl0

Kanye West in the studio:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=irb335ThCdo&feature=related

2. Locate the hottest musicians in your area and ask them to play or do overdubs on your rap beats and r&b beats. Although there are a lot of good keyboards on the market that sound great, there is nothing like the sound of a live bass guitar, lead guitar, organ or trumpet.

Producers at Mix Me Entertainment bridge sounds between live and digital instruments on 95% of the tracks produced.

3. Go to your local colleges and universities that offer music and media courses. Ask the professor or students to mix your rap beats and r&b beats for course credit. Often times this will cost you absolutely nothing and you will receive a quality mixed product.

4. Go to a major recording studio in your area and have a professional engineer master your rap beats and r&b beats.

Also if you want to take your rap beats & r&b beats to a new level you should invest in music lessons for guitar or piano. If you find it difficult to locate a teacher in your area there a many online sites that offer lessons.

If you would like to check them out, I’ve listed some of the top sites many music producers use to increase their production skills.

2. Violin Master Pro : Click Here To Play The Violin Now!

How To Sell Rap Beats Online

Many music producers struggle to get there beats reviewed by major record labels and recording artists, however, as the internet becomes increasingly popular many amateur music producers have turned to selling their beats online and are making thousands.

If you want to sell you rap beats online and become a success you must follow a few simple rules.

Learn How To Play An Instrument

Despite what the majority of most music producers think and have heard from their peers, many of them have no clue how to structure a rap beat, r&b beats or hip hop beat. This is because many of them do not understand basic music theory and timing.

In order to overcome this problem, music producers that specialize in rap beats, r&b beats or hip hop beats must learn to play at least one instrument. By learning how to play an instrument you will understand key and chord structure as well as timing.

Most music producers that sell their rap beats online have no clue that most of their tracks are out tune, out of key and pitched wrong. This is because they do not have the understanding of at least one live instrument. Here is good website I recommend that can help you play the piano.

Only Lease Your Hottest Beats

That’s right… if you want to create a viral buzz on the Internet, I would suggest you sell your hottest beats. Contrary to what many music producers might think, this tactic will help you be seen as one of the best beat makers online and will most likely get the attention of a major record label or artists.

Start With A Catalog Of 100-200 Rap Beats

That's right...only give them heat!

Build a website that offers 100-200 pieces of your hottest work and sell them and get paid by using PayPal.

Secure Your Downloads Or You Will Get Ripped Off

As many of you know, there are thieves lurking at every corner of the Internet looking to steal your rap beats. A good way to bypass this issue is to use a secure download site like TradeBit.com or E-Junkie.com. These companies offer cheap hosting services for your digital products and integrate well with PayPal.

Also make sure you get your beats copyrighted before you let anyone hear or download them.

Price Your Beats So That They Are Competitive

Make sure you do your research before you attempt to sell your first rap beat online. Go to every major search engine and look at the first (5) pages of sites. This can be done by using the keywords (rap beats for sale, beats for sale, rap beats, hip hop beats, and hip hop beats for sale).

Most of these sites will be your competitors. Figure out a good pricing structure for your rap beats based what your competition is selling their beats for.

Also figure out how to make your marketing plan better than theirs. A few websites that have perfected selling their beats online is Beats365.com and Beats2Rap2.com.

Develop Your Reputation As A Beat Maker

A good way to develop your reputation as beat maker is to work with as many local artists as you can. This will help you build your catalog of work to display on your website, blog and MySpace page.

Make Money From Licensing Your Music

Recently I had a conversation with one of our site members named Tony “MadBeats” Stewart to help him explore avenues for making money from his music. And like most recording artists and music producers, Tony only concentrated on mainstream outlets like MySpace, CDBaby and iTunes to sell his music.

I told him to think outside the box. Come up with ways to make money.

After 20 minutes…..nothing.

Not one single idea….

So I told him that there were a few companies that most recording artists and music producers probably never heard of and that these companies helped recording artists and music producers generate thousands of dollars from licensing their music.

YouLicense

The first company is YouLicense.com which is supposed to make it easier for recording artists and music producers to license their music to people that need it.

YouLicense has created a massive marketplace for artists, writers, producers, publishers, labels to license their music. Music license fees can go for $1 up to $150 or more.

RumbleFish

The next music site geared towards recording artists and music producers is Rumblefish Music. They also offer a large database of music that can be licensed for use in movies, television, and radio.

They offer artists a 1 year license agreement with no submission fees. They also allow artists to keep 100% of your ownership rights as well as 100% of back end royalties. So if you want to receive a check 4 times a year I suggest you register for an account.

PumpAudio

PumpAudio is another music site I recommend. They have generated over 80,000 placements in TV for independent artists last year alone. Click here to check out their site.

FreePlay Music

FreePlayMusic is another website that has really gained a lot of popularity of the past several years. They submit music to every major television network and had placements at the Olympic Games.

LicenseMusic

License Music is another site that offers music for use in TV, Film, Video, Games, Commercials and more.

All of their music is pre-cleared and has a set pricing structure. A typical license fee can run between $50 and $1000 per track. They do work a bit different from the other sites because they require artists to submit 2 CD copies of their work and then an agreement is sent to them to sign.

So if you want to make more from your music you should consider submitting your music to one of the following site.

Music Contracts Could Make Or Break You

Some of you may or may not know that we are located just 10 minutes away from the music capital of the world. That's right New York City!

And we have seen the good, bad and ugly of the music industry.

Last week we met with an artist that hired a production company to work on 4 tracks for his upcoming project and had his hottest material stolen right out from under him.

Can you believe that?

Has this ever happened to you?

The tracks made for his project were sold to a major record label at a higher price point because most music producers are only in the business for a quick buck.

His biggest question to us was what action he could take to recover his material because he didn't have a work for hire agreement with the production team.

If you would like to avoid this pitfall click here NOW!

To help our members avoid pitfalls like this Mix Me Entertainment has just added a bundle of sample music industry contracts to the Platinum membership area.

If you have not upgraded your FREE membership to Platinum you need to do it TODAY and save 35%.

Music Distribution Has Just Gotten Easier!

Many recording artists and music producers create professional sounding projects but have no clue how to distribute their music.

Since the creation of digital downloads, major record labels and distributors have been suffering to sustain sales while independent artists are making more money than they’ve made in the last 25 years due to sites like, SnoCap, Tune Core, CD Baby, The Orchard, Ioda Allinace and more.

These sites provide many of the marketing and distribution tools that major record label and distributors offer but without the increased fees design to keep the recording artists broke.

Below is a brief summary of what these sites have to offer.

SnoCap was created by MySpace and allows site users to sell music from their MySpace page and also from many other online retail sites.

TuneCore is a site designed to give the artist a little more bang for the buck without breaking the bank. TuneCore has secured deals with most of the leading music retailers online and you get to keep 100% of the revenue. To utilize their service they charge the artist $0.99 per track, $0.99 per album and $19.98 per album per year for storage and maintenance.

Ioda Alliance is known as one of the leaders in online music distribution with partnerships with practically every major online music retailer. What makes their service so appealing is they also offer marketing for their artists and many other services.

The Orchard is also a well known online music distributor that stands out in the crowd by going a step further and offering licensing agreements in addition to marketing, distribution and video services.

CreateSpace is another great company created by Amazon.com. What make this so appealing is they have waved the setup fees, minimum product and inventory stocking fees.

CDBaby is an online retail store that gives independent recording artists the opportunity to sell their music to a wide range of retailers and site visitors.

So if you are an up-coming recording artist I would suggest distributing your music online through the following distributors and create a strong grass roots marketing campaign by using blogs and social media sites to create buzz.

Also, don’t forget to login to Mix Me Entertainment for the latest hip-hop and r&b beats online.

How To Make Platinum Rap Beats

Many up-and-coming music producers struggle with achieving a top notch radio-ready sound like Dr. Dre, Kanye West, Lil Jon, Timbaland and many other top producers. This is because many of the top producers in the industry have a catalog of music from multiple genres that most music producer would never consider listening too.

Since the late 90’s music has shifted primarily to a digital format making it increasingly harder to get some of the oldies that our mothers and fathers you to party too. But don’t let this discourage you, if you start now within less than a year you can have a huge collection of oldies.

I started about 10 years ago and I have collected over 10,000 LP’s in every genre. So anytime I want to switch up my production style I simple pull an old LP from the catalog.

I also suggest building a major catalog because eventually music will go back to a more musical sound where you will here more instruments and drums.

Below is a list of steps that can help you enhance your production style.

1. Start build a catalog of music from the early 1990’s back to the mid 1930’s by buying old LP’s.
2. Get your hands on the following genres: Soul, R&B, Old School Rap, Rock, Country, Classical, Bachata, Merengue, Hindi, Soca, Calypso, Reggae & Dance just to name a few.
3. Search for music in other languages. It doesn’t matter if you don’t understand the language just find bits and pieces of music that cause you to listen to it over and over again. Remember music is universal.
4. Buy drum kits that are inspired by some of your favorite music producers.
5. Try to re-create beats made by your favorite producers. This is a good way to increase your production style and get familiar with what instruments they use to make most of their hits.
6. When mixing your music compare your mix to a genre that is most similar to yours. So if you are producing a west coast track you want to listen to how Dr. Dre mixes his snares, kick high hats, etc.
7. Listen to how your favorite music producers layer their instruments.

Here is a list equipment I recommend you purchase to achieve a quality sound.

Akai MPC2000XL, MPC3000
E-mu Vintage Pro sound module
Novation SuperNova synth
Roland XV-5080 sound module (2)
Soundart Chameleon audio DSP engine
Studio Electronics SE-1 sound module
Yamaha Motif synth
Digidesign's Pro Tools

If you would like to get more information on how to enhance your production go to Mix Me Entertainment and register for free drum kits, beats and other useful information.

Some Free Rap Beats Are Top Level

Rap music is something that has been around for a long time and people are looking at the ways that it has changed over the years. When you have a taste for this style of music then you are going to be able to target the entire process in the right way to make a change. You must be sure that you are working it all out and then moving on. We can see that most of the people are spending more and more time getting the free rap beats out there on the internet. This is a good thing for those that want to have some kind of starting point for their own music.

All over the internet people are posting their free rap beats in hopes that someone will use them. This is due to the fact that they are getting some credit for the entire song and they are getting some attention that they have been looking for. However, you have to be careful when you are using the free rap beats because some of them are put up by people that have fewer morals then you might have. They like to come back and say that they have wrote something when you get successful and that is not all that great when you consider the results.

Most often you will find that the free rap beats are placed on websites that have a great disclaimer that keeps them from being in trouble from the content. Overall you have to be sure that you are working it all out and then you can see that working with the free rap beats may be more trouble then you want. However, you can actually get some great ideas from the whole process of the free rap beats. There are many people out there that have a lot of talent and they are willing to share their knowledge.

This is exactly how some of the biggest names in the business managed to get their start. They have put themselves out there and made sure that they are giving away some of their music to be the best that they can be. This is all part of marketing themselves to the people that are going to matter the most. So you need to be sure that you are working it all out in the right way. Most often the people are going to have the best chance for success when they work directly with the person that has posted the free rap beats they like.

By: Hilary Mujikwa runs a free music review site designed to help people get their hands on legal free music downloads so that they can download music for free without having to worry about law suites flying their way.

9 Ways To Sell Beats To Record Labels

If you are a music producer that specializing in Rap Beats, Hip Hop Beats and R&B Beats and would like to make money from your catalog then I suggest taking bold steps to creating the right relationships to get you closer to your goal.

With the marketing machine of radio, television and internet many music producers outside of the industry think the people running record labels are the same people they see in videos and hear on the radio. I hate to burst your bubble but this is not the truth. The Bentley’s, Jewelry, Models and Mansions are mostly rented for the video shoots. It’s like watching a 4 minute commercial to get you to buy something.

Most record labels are huge corporations that are publicly traded on the NY Stock Exchange just like Ford, GM and Nike and the artists signed to those labels are just products on a shelf. Record labels have huge marketing teams, accounting offices, legal teams (in-house & contracted) and support staff. So decisions to release new projects are based on profit and loss projections not how fire your beat and raps are.

Many music producers still believe in the old fashion way of sending a CD full of rap beats to record labels hoping they select beat(s) for upcoming projects. This is like standing in line to get picked for the next episode of American Idol.

Let me be the first to tell you, this is an absolute waste of time. I’ve lived in both Los Angeles and New York for many years and have friends in VP of A&R positions and they’ve told me first hand that this is a waste of time.

So if you receive a letter back from a record label thanking you for your submission but declines to use your beats this is just a part of their job. Don’t take it personal.

Below I’ve put together a detailed list of problems associated with submitting beats to record labels.

1. Record labels establish their roster of new releases in advance based on past albums sells of existing artist and hot new artist they are looking cash in on.
2. A&R’s give producers who are in the loop and have a relationship with the label what’s known as a one-sheet. This one-sheet details the exact type of music the label is looking for their artists and the timeline of when the project is expected to be completed.
3. Many A&R’s have boxes and boxes of CD’s in their office that they never get a chance to listen to them…nor do they have the desire.
4. Many A&R’s have a Blackberry roster of producers they like to use and can call at a moments notice. Many of these producers are friends and people they see on a regular basis at industry events.
5. Record labels are losing tons of money from illegal downloads and bootleg cd’s and use in-house producers for projects.
6. Many times your CD is lost in the mail room.

Like every problem there is always a solution and despite what many people think, the record industry is not some huge maze to navigate. It’s actually a very small community.

9 Ways to Break Into the Music Industry as a Music Producer

1. Move to New York, Los Angeles, Atlanta or Houston.
2. Sign up with eSessions and create profile.
3. Post your business cards at all of the popular rehearsal spots where artists and bands rehearse. (This only works if you can actually play an instrument or write songs)
4. Hang out at all of the popular clubs, bars and restaurants where industry events are held.
5. Contact management companies that represent other major producers.
6. Contact law firms that represent other major music producers and artists.
7. Look for intern jobs at major record label, studios, management companies and law firms.
8. If you are really good at mixing and mastering then I suggest applying for a job or get freelance work with one of the major studios in the cities I named above.
9. Attend every seminar and event related to the industry.

When did piano teachers start making $3 million?

Hey guys,

Lately, there's been some talk about this guy who's made over$3 million dollars in the past few years teaching people how toplay piano by ear (...out of all things).

Normally I ignore earning claims and screenshots because I knowhow easy it is for people to take their best months and make youthink they're making that regularly.

Well, apparently this guy, Jermaine Griggs, is different. Heshows this video of his sales from 2002-2007. You actually seehim go from making $2000 to months of $112,000+... but I stillcan't wrap my mind around the fact that he makes this much as apiano teacher (and 80% of his products are focused aroundgospel music at that).

Urghhhh, I'm a little envious to say the least.

But this video is more than just 4 minutes of bragging. I got several things from it:

1) That everyone starts somewhere. Prior to this video(2000-2002), as you'll soon see, he talks about struggling tomake $300. $500 was a good month.

2) That it is possible to double and triple sales from onemonth to the next. In 2003, the video clearly shows him goingfrom making around $15,000 to $40,000 the next month. Thisisn't the only time this happens.

3) That it's possible to grow sales drastically year afteryear. His movie points out times when he "never made less than$10,000/month again" and when he "never made less than$20,000/month again" and so on... all the way up to $50,000+.Yes, we all have ups and downs but wouldn't you like toproclaim that you'll never make LESS THAN A CERTAIN amountagain?

4) That it doesn't matter how old you are or where you've comefrom. He was 17-years old when he started and came from veryhumble beginnings (more on this later).
